Matthew Pinches - Senior Caseworker

Matthew has been a caseworker at Prisoners Abroad since 2004. Over this time, he has carried out various overseas prison visiting trips to places such as Trinidad, Morocco, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines. He manages our survival grants system, ensuring that vital support reaches vulnerable detainees, and is also one of our media spokespeople. Matthew graduated from Birmingham University with an LLB (Law with French law) degree in 1993, and has a working knowledge of French & Spanish, so he’s able to support our native speakers booking visits and liaising with foreign prison authorities when necessary. Outside of work, Matthew is an avid vinyl collector/dj, so spends a lot of his free time behind the decks.
