Since 1978 Prisoners Abroad has been caring for the welfare of British citizens imprisoned overseas and their families. We provide expert advice and life-saving humanitarian services to thousands of people affected by overseas imprisonment every year. We are non-judgemental and provide assistance regardless of the stage of sentencing or the verdict.

Prisoners Abroad offers a comprehensive service to national and regional newspapers, radio, TV and online media outlets. We can offer journalists expert commentary on key issues affecting people imprisoned abroad, such as welfare concerns surrounding access to food and clean water, medical care, mental and physical health, as well as prison conditions and environment. We can also provide a unique insight into the effects imprisonment overseas has on families, and information about how someone can rebuild their life on return to the UK. 

In some cases we are able to provide case studies. Unless we have the explicit permission of an individual, we will not confirm or deny whether we are providing support to a particular individual. Prisoners Abroad does not campaign on behalf of individuals against convictions or prison sentences.
