Alan supports the volunteers that run our family support groups around the country and coordinates this programme throughout the year.  He also coordinates monthly themed and country focused family support and information groups.  He ensures that we continue to send magazines and reading materials to many British prisoners detained abroad.

He has a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages and International Studies.  He speaks Spanish and has a diploma in public service interpreting.  As part of his work, he has visited prisons in Venezuela and Spain where he met British prisoners and prison officials.

He has been with Prisoners Abroad in his current role since 2013.  Prior to that he was in the casework team from 1997 - 2005 and was part of a small team that helped to pioneer our proactive family support work.
