Dame Harriet will share the story of Sean, who was imprisoned in the Caribbean for fifteen years. Being in prison abroad can be terrifying; in addition to the isolation that stems from separation from family and friends, brutal conditions often threaten the life, dignity and health of the person imprisoned. Sean lacked access to water, proper food or medical care, becoming dangerously sick. But, with Prisoners Abroad's help, he was able to purchase what he needed to survive and pay for a doctor's visit and vital medicine.
